About me, etc.

HELLO
As it says on the main page, I'm Lily, a twenty year old Politics student from the UK. I only turned twenty recently but it sounds really old, I don't like it. For most of the year I live with four other girls in a house near the university campus, which is definitely interesting. We generally get along, but who doesn't get annoyed with the people they live with sometimes?

The summer I spend at home with my mum and younger sister, with my dad living down the road with his girlfriend. Yes, they're divorced. Sometimes I enjoy the summer but other times it sucks a bit because my boyfriend, who I met at uni, lives quite far away from here so I don't really get to see him very often. Hence why I started this blog: I have no social life at home, and nothing better to do.

WHAT I LIKE
I like lots of stuff. As geeky as it is, I do like studying politics, especially European politics. I like reading, especially Victorian gothic novels like Bram Stoker's Dracula, and Jekyll and Hyde. That kind of thing. I read a lot of stuff by George Orwell too, and I love the Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot. My favourite TV show is Doctor Who, because David Tennant is lush. Seriously, I never miss an episode and if ever did, I would cry until the end of time.

So that's the dorky stuff out the way. I'm also basically obsessed with fashion and beauty, I used to work in Topshop and I seem to be unable to stop buying new clothes, most of which I don't even need or wear. If Doctor Who isn't on, I'll watch American Idol, X-Factor or any other such reality talent contest thing. Or repeats of Friends on E4, or F1 on ITV. I'm in love with Johnny Depp, and Pirates of the Carribean are my favourite films ever. I'll listen to most kinds of music really, but my favourites at the moment are Lily Allen, the Gossip and Christina Aguilera. I love going to bars with my friends for a couple of cocktails and a chat. Oh yeah, and my PS3 is the best thing known to man.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE
For every thing I do like, there's bound to be at least five that I don't. I don't like studying maths or computer science, which is lucky because I don't have to any more. I don't like studying sociology either, but that sucks because I've had to take two optional units in it this year, grr. I can't stand chick lit like Marian Keyes or Jodi Picoult or whatever their names are. Bleh. Emo music is a sign of the apocalypse and should be wiped out permanently, along with chavvy RnB and Cascada. TV wise, nothing makes me turn over faster than Charmed because its rubbish.

Politically, I don't like Bush, but I'm just about okay with Blair. I really dislike Gordon Brown. I'm pro-choice rather than pro-life. I hate leggings worn under skirts and dresses. Actually, I hate leggings in generally, they look ridiculous. I hate the whole 'oooh I'm so individual' emo look, you know, thick black fringe pasted onto the face, stripy tights, plastic Hello Kitty accessories, too much black, that kind of thing. Fair enough if that's your thing, but I can't say I'd chose to dress that way myself (anymore - I did about 6 years ago).

And I don't like judgemental people either :P
